This is typical of what I see:

bash-2.02$ ftp www.epic.noaa.gov
Connected to plover.wrc.noaa.gov.
421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection

I have ftp software, on both Unix and Windows.  None have been able to get
access.

My guess is the ftp server requires a reverse lookup on the client machine
name, something which not work from behind most firewalls.

I too, have been unable to download SGT.  Is there a mirror anywhere which
might allow access?

Hi ,

I did experience the same thing, but I think the reason, it did not work for
me,
is I did not have an FTP program in my machine. I did find an FTP program on
the internet and installed for  3 weeks  trial . During this trial period ,
I did download
SGT , by following the instruction:  "Right Click" , "Save as target" , and
this FTP program
did download SGT source and docs.

I hope , this helps you. If you still find , that it is still not working,
then you need to contact
Donald Denbo, who is the author of this library , and ask him to send you an
email with SGT
as an attachment.
