Retaining and Deleting Filtered Data Items

NdEdit allows an additional method for reducing the number of data items displayed in the cut panels. By using the Retain selected stations command in the Edit menu all stations that are not within the filter region are removed from all cut panels. The following illustration shows how the stations have been removed that are not in the filter region defined by the latitude/longitude view:

Conversely, by using the Delete selected stations command in the Edit menu all stations in the filter region are removed from all cut panels. The following illustration shows how the stations in the filter region have been removed:


Stations removed using these commands are not permanently deleted from the dataset. You can use the Show all data command in the View menu to temporarily show all removed data items. Use the Undo all command in the Edit menu to see all of the original data items.
