Step #5: Select a Subset of Axes Values for the Selected Variable

Clicking the Next button will take you to the Subset panel, the last step in the wizard process. This panel will present the variable you have selected as well as the range of the axes on which it is measured. In this case SST is measured with respect to depth and time:

At this point, you can click either the Plot or Export buttons to produce plot of the selected variable or export the variable to a file. Clicking Plot produces the following new plot window for the selected variable:

To modify the ranges of the plot axes you can enter new start and end values in the text fields in the Subset panel. Click on the elipsis (...) buttons to change axes values in a more point-and-click fashion. For the above example, clicking on the elipsis button for the time axis presents the following dialog:

You can either build up a date by entering the individual parts (day, month, year, etc...) or drag the time line handles to select any date in the range of the axis.

Clicking on the ellipsis button for the depth axis presents the following dialog:

Either type a minimum or maximum value in the text fields or drag the handles on the "depth line" to select depths in the range of the axis.
