The Climate Data Portal (CDP) Java desktop application provides a much higher degree of interactivity than is possible on a web page. The Java desktop application is supported for most commonly used workstations and operating systems, and is easily downloaded and installed.

Requirements:

The Java application requires a fast internet connection (T1 or faster). If your workstation is on a network behind a firewall, it will be necessary for your system administrator to allow CORBA connections through your firewall. The Java VM version 1.3 is recommended. Contact the Climate Data Portal team if you have any questions. If you have a low bandwidth internet connection (e.g., modem), or are otherwise unable to use the Climate Data Portal Java application, you can still access data through the Portal via the web.
